This hybrid role has the option to be based in our main offices of Aberdeen, Perth, Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh. As a Paraplanner, you will be responsible for assisting financial planners with client reports, conducting research on financial products, preparing analytical insights, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The role includes evaluating investment strategies, creating tailored financial plans, and providing administrative support to ensure smooth client service delivery.

Other Key Responsibilities

  • Management of existing clients in accordance with the firm’s procedures
  • Submit new business with providers
  • Client contact and updates
  • Completing initial information gathering and analysis on existing products
  • Provide research on annuity and protection providers
  • Preparing suitability reports to cover all recommendations
  • Ensuring the advice file is to a high compliance standard
  • Reviewing client documents
  • Gathering illustrations, fund factsheets and Key Features Documents
  • Attend client meetings, where required
  • Cash flow planning
  • Tax calculations

Requirements

Relevant qualification, experience, skills and knowledge

We expect an individual performing this role to have the following:

  • Be working towards completion of the Level 4 diploma (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience as a trainee paraplanner or paraplanner
  • Good written and communication skills
  • Strong skills in Financial Planning and Investments
  • Proficiency in Analytical Skills and Finance
  • Experience in Report Writing and developing accurate, clear documentation
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities
  • Strong knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in the financial industry
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with financial advisors and clients
